Asuán es Egipto en su faceta más nubia: una ciudad más tranquila y verde construida alrededor de la primera catarata del Nilo. Dos días permiten recorrer el templo de File, la alta presa y dar un paseo en faluca alrededor de la isla Elefantina, seguido de un trayecto en coche a primera hora de la mañana hacia el sur hasta Abu Simbel, donde la colosal fachada de Ramsés II aún contempla el amanecer.
