An early start, a crossing of over two hours each way, and snorkeling from a boat ladder in open water rather than from a beach.

About this tour

Sataya Reef, better known as Dolphin House, is a shallow, sheltered lagoon south of Marsa Alam where pods of wild spinner dolphins regularly rest and feed — genuinely wild animals in their own habitat, not a marine park. It's roughly a two-hour boat journey each way, and there's no guarantee of dolphins on any given day, but the reef itself and the chance are what make the trip.

Highlights

  • Sataya Reef (Dolphin House)
  • Snorkeling with wild spinner dolphins (not guaranteed)
  • Reef snorkeling with turtles, rays, and reef fish
