Horse and Camel Photoshoots at the Pyramids

Arabian horses and camels at Giza — the two dedicated horse packages, what the add-ons cost, and whether you need to be able to ride.

A horse at the Pyramids is the photograph people picture before they book anything. It is also the one most likely to be arranged badly — a tired animal produced on the spot, no agreement about what you are paying for, and a photographer improvising around whatever turns up.

The two horse packages

  • Jumping Horse Photoshoot — $120, one to two hours at the Giza Pyramids and the Nine Pyramids View.
  • Running Horse Video + Jumping Horse Photoshoot — $160, the same session with moving footage as well as stills.

Both deliver a professionally edited gallery, with the raw unedited photos the same day. If the horse is the point of the shoot rather than a flourish, these are the packages built around it.

Adding a horse or camel to a standard session

If you would rather have the Pyramids session as the main event, Arabian horse photography and a camel experience are both available as add-ons to the $75 Exclusive Pyramids Photoshoot. A professional video Reel is a separate add-on again, for anyone who wants footage as well as photographs.

Either way, say so when you book. These are arranged in advance rather than summoned on the day — which is exactly the difference between a planned shoot and whatever is standing near the gate.

Anyone offering you a horse or camel photograph at the site itself, for cash, at a price that drops as you keep walking, is not running a photoshoot. Arrange it beforehand.

Do you need to know how to ride?

No. The photographs do not depend on your riding — the photographer directs the session, including how you sit, where you look and how the animal is positioned in the frame. Most people booking have not ridden in years, if ever.

Horse or camel?

A camel reads as unmistakably Egypt: the silhouette against the pyramids is the photograph most people have in their head. An Arabian horse reads as cinematic — more movement, more drama, and considerably better in video, which is why the running horse package pairs footage with stills.

If you want both in one session, ask when booking rather than assuming, so the time is planned in.

Domande frequenti

The Jumping Horse Photoshoot is $120 and the Running Horse Video + Jumping Horse Photoshoot is $160, each running one to two hours at the Giza Pyramids and the Nine Pyramids View. Arabian horse photography is also available as an add-on to the $75 Exclusive Pyramids Photoshoot.

The horse is not the hard part. Arranging it in advance, with someone who has planned the session around it, is what separates the photograph you imagined from the one you settle for.
