Cairo from water level, under your own paddle. Two hours on the Nile from the kayak club in Maadi — river islands, herons and egrets, feluccas going past, and a version of this city almost no visitor sees.

Good to Know
The practical truth about this one — timings, conditions, and what we can’t promise.
- No experience needed — this is flat water and the guide stays with you.
- Single and double kayaks are both available. Children can paddle in a double with an adult; tell us ages when you book.
- Early morning and late afternoon are the calmest and coolest slots, and the best light.
- Bring a change of clothes — you will get some water on you — and a dry bag or waterproof case for your phone.
- Cairo's a big city and the river runs through the middle of it: expect a working waterway, not wilderness.
