Solo Photoshoot in Egypt: Photographs of You, Not Your Shadow
Why solo travelers come home without a single good photograph of themselves, and what a private session at Giza actually involves.
Solo travelers come home from Egypt with three thousand photographs of the Pyramids and none of themselves in front of them. What you get instead is a handful of stranger-taken shots, framed badly, taken in a hurry by someone who did not want to be holding your phone.
What a session actually solves
The Exclusive Pyramids Photoshoot is $75 for a private one-to-two hour session at the Giza Pyramids and the Nine Pyramids View, with 80+ edited pictures and the raw photos the same day. Private, in this context, means it is you and the photographer — not a group slot you are joining.
For a solo traveler the practical parts matter as much as the photographs. Pickup and drop-off from your hotel are included, so you are not negotiating a taxi to Giza alone at sunrise, and parking and tolls are covered. Entrance tickets are not included and are bought at the gate.
Being photographed alone
Almost everyone finds the first few minutes uncomfortable, and being alone in front of the camera concentrates that. The photographer directs the entire session — where to stand, which way to turn, what to do with your hands — so there is no moment of standing there wondering what is expected. Most people settle within about ten minutes.
You do not need to arrive with a plan or a pose. Turning up and being told what to do is the normal experience of a shoot.
Timing it around a solo itinerary
Sunrise is the slot most solo travelers should take. The light is better, the site is quieter, and it is finished before the rest of your day starts — which matters when you are managing your own schedule with nobody to split logistics with.
A photoshoot can also be arranged alongside any of our tours, and several multi-day itineraries already include a Giza photoshoot on the Pyramids day.
If you want more than stills
A professional video Reel is available as an add-on, as are an Arabian horse and a camel experience. Solo travelers tend to use the Reel more than couples do — it is the format that works for a single subject and gets shared.

No. The photographer directs the whole session, so there is no point at which you are left guessing what to do. Most people relax within the first ten minutes.
No — pickup and drop-off from your hotel are included, along with parking and road tolls.
The photographs you will actually want from Egypt are the ones with you in them. They are also the only ones you cannot take yourself.
