The Dush Palace Temple is considered one of the most important monuments in the new valley. This is because it contains several monuments representing more than one civilization.

The ancient Dush Palace is located 13 kilometers from the Sudanese city Paris, and 113 kilometers from the Kharga Oases in a city called Dush; this city is located at the crossroads of the oasis trails that linked the Paris Prefecture in Sudan and Esna in Luxor

The Dush Palace was built high above the valley and not far from the temple and the city because it was used as a fortress to protect the city and the temple. This palace was built in the first century BC and was renovated and reused by Ptolemaic. and Romans. Initially, the ancient Egyptians used this temple to worship the god’s Isis and some other gods, but after feeling the danger that might threaten them at any time in terms of the borders of Sudan, they decided to use this place as an impenetrable fortress to protect the temple and the country.

Many tourists come to see the famous Dosh Gate and Palace, where the city gate was built with mud bricks, which still have paintings and decorations on it till now. The gate of the Dosh Palace was built with mud bricks, but the palace and most of the places in the city were built with limestone. The palace and the temple are a whole complex city where people live and practice their normal daily lives, to indicate that it was not only meant for worship. If you visit the palace, you will be surprised by how its roofs are still preserved in their beauty and elegance, as if they were built only a few years ago. The roof of this temple is characterized by the presence of several domes in several palace rooms, and these domes are characterized by the beauty of wonderful drawings and decorations, which show how wonderful and perfect painters and sculptors were in this period. There are also a few churches that are said to have been built by the Romans while they were there.

The Hidden Treasures of Dush

The city of Dush and especially the temple were full of a large number of treasures that have been found, some of which, it is said, was taken by treasure stealers, and have been placed in the Egyptian Museum for safekeeping. Inside the palace, he found a collection of bracelets, gold necklaces, pottery, and other objects. On the other hand, the walls of the temple contain a large number of pharaonic inscriptions, which show how religious ceremonies and worship were performed, how offerings were made, and an accurate description of the ruler’s offerings to temple heads and priests and what the people of nearby oases offered to their deities, next to this city you will find a special temple used for the worship of Amon, with sources of irrigation and agriculture being particularly important for the inhabitants of desert oases. The distance from Cairo to the city of Dosh is 724.4 km. It takes about a 9 hours drive, you can visit the temple at any time from 7:00 Am to 17:00. The ticket to this place hardly costs anything. It’s very cheap, and there you can take many pictures inside the palace and the temple.

On the way to Dosh city, you can visit many of the tourist areas in the New Valley or make safaris in the desert and enjoy spending the night in that beautiful desert with kind bedouin people.

Temple of Hibis

The Temple of Hibis is a tourist monument to four ancient cultures. This temple is located in the Kharga Oasis area, 3 kilometers from the New Valley.

It’s one of the most famous ancient Egyptian temples, and also one of the largest in Western Sahara. This place was built for the worship of gods and local information in Egypt. The name of the temple was derived from the word “hibt” which means the plowing tool because these lands were very fertile and had a rich crop. The construction of the temple over a fairly large area includes the temple, large mansion, the holy holies, the sacrament, and an open courtyard. The most important thing that interests many tourists around the world is the three walls of the Holy of Holies, on which there are a large number of inscriptions of over 600 deities, as well as inscriptions showing prayers and offerings to the gods. This temple was very popular in the 19th century after it was visited by many travelers and foreign tourists.

Tourism in the New Valley

The New Valley Governorate or as people called “Egypt’s Forgotten Paradise”. Although it occupies only 44% of Egypt’s area, it is one of the most important tourist cities in Egypt. It is the home of three ancient civilizations, first Pharaonic and later Ptolemaic and Romania. It is the home of many kinds of tourism, such as recreational, environmental, therapeutic, and other tourism. This governorate is located in the desert, which includes many Wells and sulfur eyes, to which tourists from all over the world come to recover from various types of rheumatic diseases. It has many magnificent Roman ruins, some of which have been destroyed, but still retains its beauty for the families that are favored by tourists from all over the world, although this area is far from Cairo, many tourists prefer to travel all this way only to enjoy the unique tourist places found in this governorate. So if you’re thinking of visiting anywhere in the meantime, I would advise you to visit the archaeological sites in the new valley, although this is a desert area, in recent years many facilities have been added to assist tourists in visiting this area. In Egypt, there are many regions worth visiting, and at the top of this list is the New Wadi Governorate. So don’t forget to visit them one day.
